Vision Mission Values
Vision: Real PEOPLE Finding Real HOPE
Too many people are looking for real, lasting hope in the wrong places - wealth, possessions, careers, hobbies, and even other people. Our goal is to become genuine and authentic with each other and with everyone in our life circle - no fakes or frauds. And then we want to find real, lasting hope in Jesus Christ.
Luke 18:10-14 (REAL PEOPLE)
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee was standing and praying like this about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I’m not like other people—greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’
“But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even raise his eyes to heaven but kept striking his chest and saying, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other, because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” (CSB)
Hebrews 6:19 (REAL HOPE)
We have this hope (Jesus) as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. … (CSB)
Mission:
Connecting with Christ
John 15:4-5
“Remain in me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.” (CSB)
Connecting with the Church
1 Corinthians 12:27
Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it. (CSB)
Connecting with the Community
Matthew 5:13-16
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” (CSB)
VALUES: H.O.P.E.
Honoring One Another
Romans 12:10
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. (ESV)
Obeying God’s Word
James 1:22
But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (CSB)
Preparing Future Leaders
Ephesians 4:11-13
And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into maturity with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness. (CSB)
Expecting Spiritual Growth
1 Peter 2:2-3
Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation, if you have tasted that the Lord is good. (CSB)
What we Believe About…
The Bible...
the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God in its original manuscripts. It is trustworthy in its teaching, and is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21
God…
there is one God that exists eternally in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 1 John 5:6-7
Jesus…
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to claim His own and take them to Heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21
Holy Spirit…
the Holy Spirit is God, living within a Christian. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. 1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 3:16
Man…
man was created in the image of God, having great worth and free will. Man willfully sins against God and is consequently lost without hope apart from Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 30:19-20; 2 Peter 3:9; John 14:6
Salvation…
salvation, the forgiveness of sins, is a gift from God. One who accepts Christ must repent of sin, confess their faith, be baptized (immersed) into Him, and choose to live their life for God’s purpose. Acts 16:31; Luke 13:3; Matthew 10:32; Mark 16:16; Romans 6:1-4
The Church…
Jesus Christ established his church to be one holy people, to glorify God, and to carry out his saving mission among all nations. Matthew 16:18; Matthew 28:19-20
