PURPOSE

The Connections Minister is responsible for creating and managing various opportunities for discipleship at CCC as well as training and equipping leaders for those initiatives. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for facilitating local ministry partnerships and opportunities for ministry. He/she will foster and create opportunities for CCC to connect with the community as well as visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Discipleship Ministry

Create and manage various opportunities for discipleship at CCC, as well as train and equip leaders for those initiatives:

  • Approve, suggest, or develop a strategy for discipleship groups.

  • Assess the needs of the church to be able to offer appropriate discipleship opportunities.

  • Recruit, train, and evaluate facilitators for all discipleship groups.

  • Develop healthy relationships with discipleship group leaders and ensure they are well-resourced to succeed in their groups.

  • Lead a weekly adult connect group.

  • Ensure sound doctrine is maintained in all teaching environments in the church.

  • Ensure effective attendance records (including contact information of all attendees) are kept and then loaded into the church database management system (currently Realm).

  • Prepare, submit, and maintain an annual budget for discipleship.

2. Outreach Ministry

Facilitate local ministry partnerships and opportunities for ministry, as well as foster and create opportunities for CCC to connect with the community as well as visitors:

  • Recruit, train, and evaluate ministry volunteers for the outreach team.

  • Develop and implement a ministry strategy for community outreach by CCC.

  • Develop relationships with leaders in the community.

  • Prepare, submit, and maintain an annual budget for outreach.

  • Assist in welcoming and assimilating visitors.

  • Assist in conducting Class 101: Discover (New Member’s Class).

3. Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a commitment and obedience to the vision, mission, and values of CCC: Becoming real people finding real hope by connecting them to Christ, the church, and the community through honoring one another, obeying God’s Word, preparing future leaders, and expecting spiritual growth.

  • Model a strong commitment to the ministries of CCC in stewardship, corporate worship, prayer, and evangelism.

  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours

  • Participate in weekly scheduled staff meetings

  • Occasionally assist with the preaching ministry

  • Affirm and support the Constitution, By-laws, Policy Manual, and statement of faith of CCC.

  • Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through Bible study, prayer, worship, giving, ministry, and evangelism.

  • Demonstrate evidence of Christian morals and ethics.

  • Partner and network with other ministers who are like-minded theologically to build unity and promote community among the local churches.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Lead Minister

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Starting salary is in line with other salaries of like positions in the area. Housing allowance can be designated from the salary package if qualified and so desired.

  • Option to contribute to retirement plan (up to 3% matching).

  • Option to receive medical premium benefits up to $5,000 per year.

  • Paid time off will be as follows:

    • 20 personal time off (PTO) days that may be used as vacation, sick, or personal days.

    • Vacation while employed at HCC:
      20 days for 1-5 years of employment
      25 days for 6-15 years
      30 days for 16+ years

    • PTO not used in a year may be carried over to the next year up to 5 unused PTO days.

    • All staff of HCC receives a paid week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day and observes the following national holidays as paid days off (except when it falls on a Saturday, it is observed the Friday before; when it falls on a Sunday, it is observed the Monday after): New Year’s Day, Good Friday, the Monday after Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Black Friday, and Christmas Day.
